License Bond fee: $166 (for 1st time contractor)
Fingerprinting fee: $75 - $100 (depending on location)
You can pay the CSLB $400 when you submit your app,
or pay $250 at time of submittal, then
pay $150 after you pass your exams.
The Contractors State
License Board will send you a fingerprinting packet when your
application is processed and approved. You can not get your prints done
without this packet.
If you are an out-of-state
contractor, you will be sent a set of Print Cards that you can
take to your local police station to get your prints rolled. Note, if
you choose this process, your prints will take 2-3 months to get
through the FBI and DOJ. Your best choice is to wait until your test
date. After your exams you can go to a local LiveScan location and have
your prints taken digitally. A clear set of prints can get
through the system in a matter of days.
